Q. Does stainless steel corrode?

Tea Staining occurs most commonly within about five kilometres of coastal areas or a few hundred meters from a sheltered bay, it becomes progressively worse closer to a marine source. However wind exposure, industrial pollution levels and higher temperatures can create enviroments where tea staining might occur. these same factors also increase corrosion rates of alternative metals Note: We have found a No:8 (Mirror finish) will withstand tea staining better than a No:4 (Satin finish )

Q. Do I need to clean my job after it is installed?

Yes, stainless steel will hold its appearance & remain free of tea-staining if it is washed regularly & it is not necessary to use harsh chemicals, warm soapy water and a clean cloth is fine. Drying afterwards will avoid leaving streaky marks. With No 8 ( Mirror Finish ) surfaces if subject to excessive brushing or rubbing may lose gloss or become scratched. Bleaches are not recommended.
